It began raining shortly after I got out of bed, made coffee, put out peanuts for the chipmunks and continued reading the novel I began last night. And it’s a heavy rain, too. Just what we needed! Or what I needed, anyway.
The two outside jobs I had planned for today were to cut the grass and water the new trees. Now, I can’t do one and don’t have to do the other!
I love rainy days like this. The temperature is cooler than it has been and the hovering humidity is gone, now that the clouds have finally burst. Since what I usually do with my time here at the trailer involves reading, writing, and editing – inside, I can just plan on having a whole day completely filled with all that. I only need to go out for internet access so I can call Dennis on Skype, post this to my blog, and do a quick check of email and Facebook. Then I may spend the rest of the day doing exactly what I believe I was put on this earth to do! I have nearly a full pound of coffee beans and plenty of milk, fixings for a great dinner tonight, and no need at all to leave the comfort of my trailer.
When it began raining, I moved the pile of peanuts in closer to the house and I see now that I’m supporting not only 3 chippies, but also 2 noisy, greedy Blue Jays and 1 fastidious red squirrel that takes a single shelled peanut then hops up on the picnic table to eat it. At this rate, I may run out of peanuts soon. Although, the chipmunks come knocking at the sliding glass door whenever the pile is gone, just to let me know …
Anyway, it’s all good right now at the trailer, and I can further ignore whatever else happens to be going on out in that crazy world. This is, after all, my personal sanctuary, and I intend to make every day a great day – even the rainy days.
So, what kind of rainy day person are you?
A Rainy Days and Mondays person.
A Rainy Day People person?
A Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head person?
Or a The Rain, the Park & Other Things (Flower Girl) person?
I think I’m a combination of the last two.
You are most welcome here! Enjoying the view with me from my trailer or verandah.
